Book I Forest	From the mountains of Idaho, Mike Crider emigrates to the wilderness planet Forest to seek a new life. Like generations of pioneers before him, Mike seeks new horizons, new challenges, new adventures. Before a year is out, he meets and falls in love with Jenny Aggruder after rescuing her from the giant predator that killed her parents. The young couple builds a cabin in the mountains, but an alien invasion finds them, and the Criders must lead the settlers of Forest in a war for survival.
Book II Confederacy!	Off-World Mining & Exploration now has settlers on a dozen worlds. The Company employs huge ships to move settlers and goods out to the settled worlds, but several of those ships have disappeared. The hostile Grugell are suspected. The Grugell have armed ships. The Company has none, but one of OWME's leaders has a plan - a Constitutional Convention to form a Galactic government, to defend humanity against the hostile Grugell.
Book III The Orleans Incident	While on exercises near the Grugell frontier, a Confederate Navy task group based on the new battle cruiser CSS Orleans is ambushed. The first shots of the First Galactic War lead to a series of hit-and-run engagements, with the outnumbered and outgunned Confederate Navy desperate to defend the worlds of the Confederacy. Fleet Admiral Isaac Gauss has a plan to defeat the Grugell, but time works against the Confederacy, and the future of humanity hangs in the balance.
